One of our favorite couples is married! Actors Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan tied the knot is a private wedding ceremony on January 25th, 2015. The couple has always been rather secretive about their relationship and both were firm about having an intimate wedding. Therefore, only close friends and family members were present on the occasion.

Kussh Sinha

Actor Sonakshi Sinha’s brother (and actor Shatrughan Sinha’s son) Kussh Sinha also tied the knot in the first half of 2015 and the photos of the who’s who attending this event were some of ‘the most liked Facebook posts’, we hear. It was not just the B-town celebs but also political bigwigs including Prime Minister NaMo who came in to give the couple their blessings.

This was a hush-hush ceremony which was a complete shocker for many. Shreya married her long time beau Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya and they recently posted a post-wedding photo posing with their cute dog Sherlock. Their wedding selfie (posted below) was also a huge hit and kept us wanting to see more.

Actor Kunal Kapoor also recently tied the knot with superstar Amitabh Bacchan’s niece Naina Bacchan in a very intimate setup in the Seychelles.  We only came to know about this hush hush event after the private actor tweeted and instagrammed about it later.

The Hinduja wedding

We were saving the big one for the last. The Hinduja wedding where Sanjay Hinduja married his long time girlfriend Anusuya Mahtani, (who is known as the self-styled Kaftan queen due to her boutique that specializes in Kaftans) in a royal setting in Udaipur, was a dazzling affair as not just Bollywood stars but even Hollywood who’s who came down for it. Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame were also flown down for the ceremony and we hear that the latter danced and shook a leg with our very own B-town hunks Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. Nicole performed at the Sangeet ceremony which was attended by Preity Zinta, Manish Malhotra and Malaika Arora, just to name a few.  There were not one but two pre wedding receptions which were attended by more than 10,000 wedding guests! Bearing these statistics in mind, we won’t be surprised if this is the most expensive Indian wedding ever hosted in the country till date.

Well well well, it had to happen one day and it happened yesterday! Yes, we are talking about the Bollywood Shaadi of 2015- Shahid Kapoor marrying Delhi girl Mira Rajput. The media went crazy when the news was afloat that Shahid had been engaged earlier this year to a mystery girl from Delhi. Following this news, many girls went in shock as they couldn’t believe that Bollywood’s most beloved bachelor had finally found love. Well, like they say ‘marriages are made in heaven’, so was Shahid’s.  Here is all you need to know about Shahid and Mira’s sweet union.

About the Bride

A Delhi girl who completed English honours degree recently from Lady Sriram College from Delhi University is the lucky one -Mira Rajput (now Kapoor). All of 21 years of age, this young lady is a follower of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas which Shahid and his family also follow. Apparently, their families met at one of the satsangs and rest as they say is history…

Sangeet / Mehendi Ceremony

Since both the families are Delhi based, they chose Delhi as the venue for all the functions. (except the reception which will take place in Mumbai, -we are sure it will be a star studded affair). The sangeet function was held at Chattarpur farms on 6^th July 2015. Earlier in the day there was a mehendi ceremony followed by a chooda/kaleera ceremony (according to Punjabi rituals). Mira wore a pretty lehenga choli in pastel yellow tone by Anita Dongre. It was a brocade lehenga with a light pink choli. The look was complete with a light jewellery set with a maang tika. The makeup was minimal. Shahid looked handsome in a red kurta with maroon jacket and black churidaar. Here’s a picture from the ceremony.

Wedding

Shahid wanted his wedding celebrations to be a close-knit affair and so, only 50 people were present to witness his big day. The guest list included close family members and some friends from both sides. The couple had a simple ceremony  where the groom wore a simple white kurta-churidaar and the bride a pastel pink-green suit with dupatta and gota patti work. She opted for minimal makeup and jewellery during the wedding. Shahid probably knew that millions of his girl fans are heartbroken because of his marriage so he clicked a selfie with Mira right after the wedding ceremony got over and posted it on his Instagram account that read- #hitched.  This was probably his way of giving a consolation prize to all his girl fans…a personal way of connecting with his fans may be.

Reception

Following the simple wedding on the morning on July 7^th, The couple hosted a lavish dinner at Trident, The Oberoi  Gurgaon. The media was super excited to welcome the newly married couple at the venue and the couple happily posed for the shutterbugs. The couple looked very much in love and uber cute, needless to say. The choices of reception attire was very stylish as Mira wore a baby pink lehenga choli by Anamika Khanna and Shahid wore an off white sherwani by Kunal Rawal a designer friend of Shahid. There was a also feast at night where Shahid looked dapper in a black jacket and Mira looked stunning a whitish gown with beige design.

The biggest Bollywood shaadi of 2015 just got over and while we were still in the wedding hangover, Shahid and Mira gave us a reason to go awww again. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput got married in Delhi in a quiet Anand Karaj ceremony on July 7. With only his family and friends in presence, the duo also had a small reception in Delhi. Here are the details…

Since their wedding was a low key event, the couple celebrated in Mumbai by throwing a grand reception party. This event was a star studded affair with Bollywood’s who’s who in attendance.

The carpet was rolled out to welcome some of Bollywood’s famous faces. The venue chosen was Palladium Hotel in the Maximum City’s Lower Parel area. Newlywed couple Shahid and Mira arrived at the venue before the guests and so did Shahid’s mother Nilima Azim with her son Ishaan. Nilima was seen greeting the guests at the gate and later when Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapoor and step mom Supriya Pathak arrived, they took over.

While posing happily for the photographers and the media, Shahid looked handsome in a tuxedo designed by his good friend Kunal Rawal (who also designed all his outfits for the wedding) while the coy bride Mira was looking stunning in a Manish Malhotra ensemble (a lehenga with a crop top). Mira’s look was kept simple yet elegant and she was also seen flaunting jewels from Nirav Modi’s collection. Her hair were styled in a half updo and makeup was kept minimalistic.

The guest list 

Veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan came early and blessed the couple and was also seen having a chat with Mira later during the party. Genelia Deshmukh, Anurag Kashyap, Alia Bhatt (his co-star in his next film Udta Punjab), Dia Mirza (she came with her husband Sahil Sangha), Preity Zinta looked lovely in a bubble gum pink sari, Kangana Ranaut was stylish as ever with a simple pink sari with statement neckpiece, Shraddha Kapoor, the babas of Bollywood Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were also there, Anil Kapoor came with his daughter Sonam Kapoor and actress Kriti Sanon were present to congratulate Shahid and Mira.

The event also saw presence of Shahid’s step father Rajesh Khattar, Shahid’s aunt Ratna Pathak Shah along with her sons Vivan and Imaad.

The guests were seen clicking selfies with the newlyweds and they also happily posed for them. As far as the menu was concerned, the guests were treated with a pure vegetarian treat.

It is said that, Shahid’s wife Mira personally took care of all the arrangements at the reception. She was the one who was supervising the decorations and other important details. So, now that they are husband and wife and Bollywood has blessed them with good wishes, it is time for you to wish them if you haven’t already! Vanessa Williams needs no introduction: singer, actress and former fashion model, Vanessa is mainly known for starring in popular TV series Ugly Betty (for which she received Emmy nominations) and several movies to her credit. Vanessa recently tied the knot with boyfriend Jim Skrip, on July 4th 2015. While we are not featuring her wedding here, we have received the images of her wedding invitations. We interviewed the designers she decided to go with for all her wedding stationery, UK based Adorn wedding invitations, and they have sent us the lovely details of how Vanessa chose them for her wedding invites. So, without further adieu, here are the details:

How did Vanessa and Jim discover Adorn Invitations?

Pinterest frequently features many photographs of Adorn’s wedding invitations on their site. It is a great resource for inspiration of any kind, with Vanessa finding our designs particularly fitting with her envisioned wedding theme throughout her planning process.

Getting started…

Vanessa and Jim first met whilst holidaying in Egypt back in 2012; therefore we were told that they were planning their wedding around an Egyptian theme, to encapsulate their exotic love story. Vanessa also told us of her extravagant Carmen Marc Valvo gowns, which were to both feature ivory and gold throughout.

Following these few details, the rest was left for us to pitch to the couple. Our designers worked hard together to come up with the best possible design ideas. Our team drew colour and design inspiration from some of the couple’s wedding décor such as their planned Peony flower centrepieces, table settings, gold laser cut cupcake holders etc.

The communication between Vanessa and our team made the whole design process a lot easier. Vanessa was particularly drawn to our suggestion of teaming Marsala highlight (Pantone colour of the year) with gold, adding a touch of regal luxury, and basing our laser cut pattern around the golden leather details from one of her wedding gowns.

What was included in the designs?

Vanessa and Jim required much more than just wedding invitations; it was up to our team to design a full stationary set that included the main wedding invitation, an RSVP card, accommodation and security information cards, custom envelopes for both the invitation and RSVP response card and place cards for each guest.

The wedding invitation was enclosed behind a golden laser cut gate, which then opened up to reveal all of the wedding information that had been stamped with gold foil onto a Marsala coloured paper. The envelopes for these invitations were made to match the Marsala colour, and also had the laser cut pattern from the invitation gold foiled to the inner lining.

What we the most special elements?

Throughout the design process we discovered that the lotus flower was very significant to Vanessa and Jim’s relationship. The flower itself represents new age spirituality and luck; Jim even had Vanessa’s engagement ring personally designed so that there was a carved lotus flower behind her diamond. After learning this information we decided to incorporate this special symbolisation into their design by creating a 14-carat gold-plated lotus flower, which was then hand applied to every invitation for their final finishing touch.

What was your timeframe?

After initial contact from Vanessa and Jim, the Adorn team spent just over two months compiling inspiration, generating different design ideas and colour concepts etc. Once the design was agreed upon we sent Vanessa and Jim a sample to gain their final approval before starting the production. The couple then approved and we began the physical production which included offset printing, precision laser cutting, gold foiling and hand assembly, all within fewer than three weeks.

How was Vanessa to work with?

Vanessa was Adorn’s first celebrity customer of such calibre, the experience in itself is one that we will definitely never forget! Vanessa was extremely down to earth and friendly, she always seemed genuinely impressed by our ideas and it was an absolute dream to collaborate with!

The final result…

Vanessa and Jim were both ecstatic with the outcome of their wedding invitations and stationary, and we extremely grateful for the time and effort that our team put into creating such a beautiful design for them!

Raveena has two adopted daughters and the younger one, Chayya, recently tied the knot in a sweet Christian ceremony in Goa. She arranged the Hindu ceremony as well as the Catholic one, the groom being a Goan Catholic. The celebration started with a Sangeet ceremony, followed by Mehendi. Raveena’s love for her daughter is evident as she walked the bride down the aisle.

Indian businessman, Yogesh Mehta allegedly spent 140 Cr. INR (nearly £14 million)on his son, Rohan’s wedding in Italy. The extravagant 3-day affair took place in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy in November 2015. More than 500 guests attended Roshni and Rohan’s grand Indian celebration. The groom’s baraat was supposed to arrive at the venue on an elephant; however, the city council denied him permission to do so. Menu– The menu comprised of traditional sadhya (feast) along with delicacies from global cuisines and 10 traditional Payasams- Keralite sweet puddings.

Entertainment-South Indian actresses Manju Warrier and Shobhana entertained the guests with traditional dance. There also were cultural performances by Stephen Devassy (fusion music), Navya Nair (dance fusion) and Ghazal recital by Manjari. Actor Mukesh and his wife Methil Devika performed the Naga drama to enthrall the guests.

The wait is over. Bipasha and Karan Singh Grover made finally made things official by tying the knot in a private Bengali ceremony over the weekend. The 3-day celebration culminated in a star-sudded reception attended by top Bollywood film stars such as Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen, Dino Morea, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai Bacchan- to name a few. Today’s real wedding is a royal celebration, where the bride and groom are indeed a Maharaja and princess in real life. The Mysore Palace saw a royal wedding after nearly 4 decades as the titular head of the Wodeyar dynasty, Yaduveer Chamraja Krishnadatta Wodeyar tied the knot with Trishika Kumari on June 27^th, 2016. Trishika is also royalty as she is the Rajasthani princess of the Durgapur dynasty.

The wedding was a grand celebration with traditional elements. Carnatic music and Vedic chants could be heard reverberating across the Mysuru palatial walls as the royal wedding began amidst prayers to Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Queen Pramoda Devi had insisted upon a traditional ceremony with all rituals to be carried out as per the scriptures and traditions followed by the royal family. In fact; her royal highness even took it upon herself to design the Prince’s wedding dress.

A day before the wedding ceremony, the family paid their respects at the feet of their royal guru Abhinava Vagheesha Brahmatantra Swatantra Swami of Parakala Math.

The 23 year old groom is the 27^th titular head of the dynasty. Legend demands that the King cannot have his own son succeed him as the head of the state. As a result, following the demise of Srikanta Datta Narasimha Raja Wodeyar, Yaduveer was adopted and made the royal heir after a formal adoption and coronation ceremony last year. Yaduveer is the grandson of the eldest sister of the late king. His bride is the second daughter of Kumar Harshavardhan Singh and Rajkumari Maheshri Kumari. The couple got engaged last year in June.
